Rodgers & Johnston was formed back in 1968 specifically to carry out housing maintenance works for local authorities, over the last 50 years the company has evolved and now specialises in working with housing associations in various aspects of maintenance and planned works.

Based in Holytown next to the Eurocentral, we are ideally located just off the M8 to serve a large area of central Scotland- with existing contracts covering Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Edinburgh, Stirling, Grangemouth, Falkirk, Perth, Dundee, Fife, West Lothian, West Dunbartonshire and Border areas.

Being a family owned business the emphasis is on personal service and pride in works, we work as a team with our clients to provide an effective and reliable repairs service for the tenant.

What We Do?

Reactive Maintenance

We have a dedicated maintenance team who deal with reactive maintenance repairs, concentrating on response times- we work closely with our clients to achieve a multi-trade service that meets their targets of quality and timescales.

Especially since the introduction of key performance indicators, response times set must be adhered to accordingly. This is achieved by our team through good organisation and communication skills- all vehicles are satellite tracked which allows the works controller to see at a glance who is closest to an urgent repair. A high stock of relevant material is held to reduce travelling time; in-depth planning of jobs utilising our bespoke IT repairs system along with good communication with tenants, reduces no access visits.

These have all been carried out successfully, always with the tenant’s well being and comfort in mind- every effort is made to ensure the tenant is well informed and involved in all stages to minimise disruption and satisfy their specific needs.

We make every effort to aid our clients in working together towards achieving their Housing Quality Standard programmes.

Out Of Hours Service

We provide a 24 hour emergency call out service to our RSL clients with a designated single point of contact for tenants to reach, regardless of trade repair required.

This service includes window board ups, lock changes, plumbing repairs, electrical repairs and general assistance where required. All our staff recognises, and are fully trained to understand the importance of this service, focusing on the tenants needs and providing all necessary information and service to ensure the tenant feels safe and secure in their home until a permanent repair comes into effect.

We make sure good communication takes place with both the client and tenant and ensure that detailed feedback is given to the client in order that any further permanent works can be instructed.

Medical Adaptations

Our adaptations team specialise in bathroom adaptations including wet floor areas, over-bath showers and various tray designs. A speedy turnaround is essential in these works to minimise disruption to tenants or aid hospital discharge, our team are experienced, caring and provide a first class service which has been proven over the years with our clients.

Access ramps, fitting of grab rails and kitchen adaptations are within our scope of works, liaising with tenants to improve the layout and functionality of their accommodation to suit their needs.

Void Works

We have specialised in void repairs for a number of years- with the importance being stressed on turnaround times on voids- an effectively co-ordinated multi-trade service is essential. We provide a fast, efficient and proven service to minimise lost rental income for our clients and help get properties back to occupancy as soon as possible and at the same time reduce new tenant repair requests.

We can provide a full service including NIC electrical safety certificates, EPC certificates, joiner repairs, plumbing, plastering, painting, fencing, property clear outs, property cleaning and grass cutting.
